Student Writers

Mindfray offers a unique opportunity for student writers interested in publishing and building a portfolio.

Mindfray’s student writing program is available to students throughout the year. The program offers students a structured yet flexible experience in writing and publishing.
Students in the program work with Mindfray editors to brainstorm and pitch article ideas of their choice (we provide guidance and feedback). Schedules are created on a per article basis, with most students publishing two (2) articles per month.
Mindfray publications typically range from 1,000-2,000 words. However, our focus is on structure and clarity, not word count.
The program is designed to help student hone their writing craft. Throughout the review process, students receive tips, guidance, and feedback from our editors to help improve their writing abilities and become familiar with digital publishing best practices.
Requirements
There’s no experience necessary to join our student writing program; however, we expect students to be passionate about writing, working with Mindfray’s editorial team, and growing their craft. We also expect students to communicate with us and meet set deadlines.

How to Become a Contributing Writer

Send us an email that tells us a little bit about yourself, such as your school/major and writing topics that interest you. In your email, please provide us with either two writing samples OR one article you’d like to submit for publication on the site of at least 750 words.
You will be contacted by our Managing Editor, who will provide details and do an initial run-through of our review and publication process. Once your initial piece is published, we will work with you to develop three (3) other article ideas for publication.
Once the initial set of four (4) articles are published, students may continue publishing with us on a per article basis as a Contributing Writer for the site.
